UGC NET 2020 – National Eligibility Test is conducted twice in a year for the selection of deserving candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). UGC NET online application registration has started on 16th March 2020. UGC NET 2020 June last date for online submission of Application form is 30th June 2020.UGC NET exam date for the June session has been postponed due to the coronavirus spread and is expected to be shifted to the month of August or September. The final date will be announced on the official portal once decided by the authority.

UGC NET 2020 was scheduled to be held from June 15 to 20 but as per COVID-19 breakdown it will be going to postponed . NTA will be going to released revised examination details of UGC NET 2020 in this week, according to the HRD Minister.

In UGC NET December 2019 session, a total number of 7,93,813 candidates appeared out which 60,147 were qualified for Assistant Professor post and 5,092 qualified for both JRF & Assistant Professor in their respective fields.

UGC Net 2020 Apply Online :

UGC NET June 2020 online application form has been started from 16th March 2020 and last date of UGC NET apply Online is 16th May 2020 (Again Extended from 31st May to 30th June 2020). Previously, UGC-NET 2020 June Exam would be held on 15th to 20th June 2020 (till further notice). As all citizens are struggling with COVID-19 epidemic, many exams i.e. UGC NET 2020 June Exam has been rescheduled due to lockdown situation. NTA will be going to released revised examination details of UGC NET 2020 in this week according to the HRD Minister.

UGC NET 2020 Application Form: Important Points to Note

The process of UGC NET online application will consist of four steps. Aspirants should keep in mind the below:

  • The UGC NET officials will provide candidates with a chance to edit their online application.
  • Candidate’s Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/JPEG format only
  • The size of the scanned image of the photograph should be in between 10kb to 200kb. The photograph need not be attested.
  • The size of the scanned image of the signature should be between 4kb to 30kb .The candidate should put his full signature in running hand writing on white paper with Black Ink pen and scan for uploading.
  • Do not send the printout of the confirmation page to the authority office.

Documents/Information to Keep Ready Before Filling UGC NET Application Form:

UGC NET 2020 online application form has been extended from 16th may to 31st May. Candidates are advised to keep ready the required document at the time of UGC NET 2020 online Form filling.

  • All educational certificate and mark sheets.
  • PAN Card/License /Passport number/Aadhaar card number/Voter ID card number/any Government ID proof
  • Category certificate (if applicable).
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate (if applicable).
  • A person with Disability (PwD) certificate (if applicable).
  • Scanned images of photo and signature in JPG format (file size of photo: 10 kb to 200 kb, file size of signature: 4 kb to 30 kb)
  • A valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Permanent and correspondence address with pin code.
  • Subject code for which the candidate plans to take the exam (mentioned in information brochure).
  • Code of post-graduation course (mentioned in information brochure)

How To Fill UGC NET 2020 Online Application Form 2020?

Step I: Registration Page

Fill in the basic information and note down the system generated Application No.

(i) Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name as given in the Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/University Certificate in capital letters

(ii) Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format as mentioned in Secondary School Examination or equivalent Board/ University certificate.

(iii) Mobile Number and e-mail Address – Candidates must provide own Mobile Number and e-mail address.

Note: Only one e-mail address and one Mobile Number are valid for one application.

Step II: Fill in the complete Application Form:

(a) The applicant fill all the required credentials in the form.

  • Personal information: includes, name, gender, parents’ name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, etc.
  • Permanent address : includes address, pin code, state code district etc.
  • Educational Qualification: the applicant required to fill the details of educational qualification which includes Name of the Course, Name of the College, Year of Passing, percentage of marks required etc.
  • -After all the details are filled, candidates need to click on the “Next” button.

Step III: Uploading of scanned images & Signature

  • Candidate’s Photograph & Signature should be in JPG/JPEG format only
  • The size of the scanned image of the photograph should be in between 10kb to 200kb.The photograph need not be attested.
  • The size of the scanned image of the signature should be between 4kb to 30kb .The candidate should put his full signature in running hand writing on white paper with Black Ink pen and scan for uploading.

Step IV : Payment of Fee and Status of receipt of Online Application Form with Fee. Make payment of fee through SBI /Syndicate/HDFC /ICICI Payment Gateway (Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking/Paytm) and keep proof of fee paid.

Download save and print copy of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of fee for your record and future reference.

(b) All the steps for submission of Online Application Form, Uploading of Candidate’s photograph, Candidate’s signature, Payment of fee and Printing of Confirmation Page can also be done separately.

(c) Once finally submitted, particulars in certain specific fields may be changed only during correction window.

Note: The application particulars entered can be edited before final submission of the Application Form.

 

UGC NET 2020 Salary:

For Assistant Professor:

Candidates can expects handsome salary in the range of Rs 25000 to 50,000/- intially depending upon the university & the skill of the candidates.

For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):

  • For first two year, the fellowship of Rs 31000/- plus HRA (Depend on the institution)
  • For the next three year. the fellowship of Rs 35000/- plus HRA (Depend on the institution)

UGC NET 2020 Application Fee:

The application fee of UGC NET 2020 varies category-wise. Application fee once paid, is not refundable or transferable under any circumstances. Fee details are as follows:

UGC NET 2020 Eligibility:

 
Candidates must apply after reading the eligibility criteria to appear in the UGC NET 2020 exam, Here are the broad pointers:
 
Candidates who are pursuing their master’s degree equivalent courses or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying master’s degree (Final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination have been delayed can appear in the UGC NET  2020 Examination.
 
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications,Electronic Science etc.are eligible for this Test.
 
For Reserved Category: The Other Backward Classes(OBC) belonging to non creamy layer/Scheduled Caste(SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ persons with disability(PwD) category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.
 
For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the States Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for Assistant Professor held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, and are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor anywhere in India.
 
For Transgender Candidates: The transgender category would be eligible to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for NET (i.e. JRF and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST/PwD categories.

UGC NET Exam Age Limit:

For Junior Research Fellowship
 
Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 1.06. 2020.
 
Relaxation: A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Noncreamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on the website: www.ncbc.nic.in) SC/ST/PWD/Transgender categories and to women applicants.
 
  • Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant/related subject of post-graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on the production of a certificate from  appropriate authority.
  • Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. Degree.
  • A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces up to the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held.
  • Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

For Assistant Professor:

Age Limit: No prescribed upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2020:

UGC NET Exam Pattern: The test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions without break.

Strategy for UGC NET 2020 Paper I

UGC NET Syllabus 2020:

The UGC NET syllabus of National Eligibility Test (NET) is different for different subjects. The subjects included in NET is more than 100. Candidates should also prepare from the syllabus of their qualifying examination. Candidates must prepare as per the syllabus prescribed by the NTA.
 
 

UGC NET 2020 Admit Card :

The Admit Card will be download on NTA website later and candidate can check for the Examination Centre ,Date and Shift (Timing) as indicated in their Admit Card.No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre, on Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their Admit card.

UGC NET 2020 Result:

National Testing Agency (NTA) will released the UGC NET 2020 result and cut off on the their official website.

 

UGC NET Application Form Correction:

Once the online application registration process is over, NTA offers one-time facility to the candidates for correction in the application form. Following steps to be followed by the candidates at the time of correction in the UGC NET Online application form.

  • Visit the official website of correction in the UGC NET
  • Online application form @https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
  • Enter required Login using application number and password
  • Click on the link available for application form for correction
  • Make changes in the required fields of the online application form
  • Click on Submit button for the final submit the form

UGC NET 2020 Selection Process :

  • The number of candidates to be qualified (total slots or Eligibility for Assistant Professor) shall be equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in both the papers of NET.
  • In order to be considered for ‘JRF and Eligibility for Assistant Professor’ and for ‘Assistant Professor’, the candidate must have appeared in both the papers and secured at least 40% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for General (Unreserved) category candidates and at least 35% aggregate marks in both the papers taken together for all candidates belonging to the following reserved categories

UGC NET E-Certificate:

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued the E certificate to give honour to all the selected candidates in UGC NET 2019.

The validity of the UGC NET E-certificate for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is 3 Year from the date of declaration of result/ issuing the certificate. There is no time limit of the E-certificate for Assistant Professor post.

 

UGC NET 2020 Answer Key Challenge:

The NTA will display Provisional Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website ugcnet.nta.nic.in to provide an opportunity to the candidates to challenge the  Provisional Answer Key. The Answer Keys are likely to be displayed for two to three days.

The Candidates will be given an opportunity to make a challenge online against the Provisional Answer Key on payment of Rs. 1000/- per question challenged as processing charges.

There will be no Re-Evaluation or Re-Checking procedure of result by NTA.
