UGC NET exam date for the June session has been postponed due to the coronavirus spread and is expected to be shifted to the month of August or September. The final date will be announced on the official portal once decided by the authority. Earlier the exam was supposed to be conducted from 15th June 2020- 20th June 2020. National Testing Agency conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year in the month of June and December (tentative). This National Eligibility Test is conducted for selection of Assistant professors in colleges or universities or Junior Research fellowship programs to pass the students to pursue research for their PG studies from national institutions. Due to the pandemic effect of Coronavirus, the UGC NET exam date for the June session has been postponed until further notice and the online application is open till 15th June 2020. The candidates now have more time to strengthen their preparation for the exam and those who miss the date of applying online can also apply now. The other session of UGC NET 2020 is tentatively decided to be held in December 2020, which will be updated in the month of October or November.
Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2020:
The candidate must hold a PG degree from the university recognized by UGC or any other equivalent degree. Candidates who are appearing in their final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to appear in the UGC NET 2020. There is no age limit for Assistant Professor post whereas the candidate must not be greater than 30 years if he/she is applying for JRF program.
Note: A relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC (Noncreamy layer, as per the Central list of OBC available on the website: www.ncbc.nic.in) Women Applicant and SC/ST/PWD/Transgender categories.
UGC NET 2020 Admit Card:
The admit cards will be made available on the official portal about 7-10 days before the exam date. You can download the admit from their website and keep a printout of the admit card, as carrying admit cards along with valid ID proof is mandatory to enter the exam hall. To download the admit card, you must fill up the registration number or D.O.B correctly which was provided on the time of filling up the application form.
UGC NET 2020 Results:
The date for announcing the result will be released along with the new exam date for UGC NET 2020. The candidate must stay updated with the official notification for UGC NET 2020 on our website or the official portal of UGC NET. The selected candidates will be provided with an eligibility certification for a fellowship program for further Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship program for Indian colleges and universities.
