About Course:

TNTET 2020 Notification Postponed: Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai has released notification regarding the Tamilnadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2020 application process has been postponed due to COVID-19.  The application process will be going to start from 4th May 2020 but now TNTET exam has been postponed and will be going to held on 27 June 2020 – Paper 1 & 28 June 2020 – Paper 2 (tentatively). The application process, exam pattern, eligibility criteria has been given below :

TNTET 2020 Exam Postpone Notice

Eligibility Criteria:

 
(I) Minimum Qualifications for TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V):
 
1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
Or
2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
Or
3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Or
4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Or
5. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Or
6. Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,)
 
Note:- The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., /D.Ele.Ed., from States other than Tamil Nadu should submit evaluation certificate for such qualifications.
 
(II).Minimum Qualifications for TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII). 
 
1. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
Or
2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
Or
3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.
Or
4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
Or
5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.
Or
6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).
Or
7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET.

For SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates: Rs. 250/-

For TNTET Paper 2 :

Cut off Marks:

Candidates who have secured 60% and above in the TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Examination will be issued with TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Pass Certificate. However relaxation of 5% marks will be given to BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), ST and Person with Disability Candidates.

Validity:

TNTET Certificate will be valid for 7 (seven) years.
