Central Teacher Eligibility (CTET) is one of the eligibility tests for teacher’s recruitment in Government schools or schools being run by Government Bodies/Institutions.in the present scenario, even the private schools are looking for CTET qualified teachers. CTET exam was started in 2011 and its certificate is valid for a period of 7 years. The main aim of CTET is to standardize the teacher’s recruitment process across India. So, if you have qualified with good percentage marks then you have good chances of getting selection in government as well as private schools. CTET Qualifying Marks and Validity
The Validity of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories. The candidates appearing in the exam will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued a marks statement and Eligibility Certificate. The examination consists of two papers. Paper 1 is meant for the candidates who wish to be teachers for class 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is meant for the candidates who wish to be teachers for class 6 to 8. Both the papers are 150 marks each. Those candidates who will score marks equal to or more than 90 will be considered as qualified.
CTET Certificate applicability:
CTET is a national level entrance examination that encounters huge number of applications It is conducted to recruit the best skilled teachers for the primary and upper primary level. This exam is conducted twice in a year with good scope of promotion. The main benefit of CTET certificate is that it is valid for a period of seven years.
Recently, the Delhi government has decided to adopt CTET as basic eligibility criteria for teacher recruitment and will recruit only certified teachers as per the requirements of the Right of children to free and compulsory Education Act 2009.
CTET certificate holders are also eligible to teach in Government school under State Government. Although, most of the states conduct their own State TET, but CTET certificate is also valid in many State schools as well.
In the recent result announced, out of 24.05 lakh aspirants approx. 5.42 lakhs candidates have qualified the CTET examination (passing percentage is 22.55%). Among all qualified candidates, as many as 2.47 lakh candidates have qualified in CTET paper I while 2.94 lakh candidates have made it in CTET paper II.
