There is news of relief for aspirants looking forward to applying for various teaching examinations in the upcoming months. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has scrapped the mandatory 50% marks criteria in graduation required by B.Ed holders to appear for any Teacher’s Eligibility Test for candidates who graduated before 2011. Now, candidates with marks less than 50% in graduation are also eligible to apply online for TET conducted for the recruitment of teachers in State & Central Govt Schools. It was also clarified that if candidates have acquired B.Ed after 2011 the candidates with 50% marks in either graduation or postgraduation can also apply for TET.
After this major announcement by the NCTE, changes will be made in the eligibility criteria of some major examinations such as CTET, UPTET, HTET, MPTET, etc This change will definitely give a chance to other aspirants who want to pursue their dream to be a teacher. Now, the marks scored in the graduation would not affect the will to apply for Teaching Vacancies.
