Solutions:
S1. Ans.(d)
Sol.
CP of  Chandra= Rs 150
CP of Mayank =150×70/100
= 105
SP of Mayank =120/100×105
= Rs 126
S2. Ans.(c)
Sol.
Initial quantity of sugar =4/100×6
= 0.24 li
∴ Required percentage =0.24/5×100
= 4.8%
S4. Ans.(c)
Sol. Required probability = 1-(1-1/6)×(1-2/5)=1-5/6×3/5=1-1/2=1/2
S5.Ans.(d)
Sol.
One minute work of both A and B together
=1/12+1/15
=9/60=3/20
∴ 5 minute work of (A + B) → 3/20×5
=3/4
∴ Time taken by C to empty the tank
=3/4×60
= 45 min
S6. Ans.(c)
Sol.
Let cost price = Rs x
∴110/100 x-95x/100=56.25
⇒ x = Rs 375
∴ Required profit =(450-375)/375×100
= 20%
S7. Ans.(c)
Sol.
Let they work together for x hours per day
∴(1/(20×10)+1/(24×10)+1/(30×10))×10x=1
⇒(6+5+4)x/120=1
⇒ x = 8 hours
S8. Ans.(a)
Sol.
First six natural numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Favourable cases = (1 & 2) or (1 & 5) or (2 & 1) or (5, 1) or (2 & 4)
or (4 & 2) or (3 & 6) or (6 & 3) or (4 & 5) or (5 & 4)
Number of favourable cases = 10
Total possible cases = 6 × 5 = 30
∴ Required probability
S9. Ans.(c)
Sol.
Total numbers greater than 6000
= 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1
= 96
