Solutions

S1. Ans.(d)
Sol. Average age of 6 member = 20
25% of 20, Increased age = 7 × 25 = 175
Required servant age = 175 – 120 = 55 year

S2. Ans.(b)
Sol. Profit = 190%
Means ⇒ Cost price = 100
Selling price = 290
If cost price increased 10% = 110
then profit on selling price
=(290 –110)/290×100 =62%

S3. Ans.(b)
Sol. ATQ,
A/B=118/100
& A/C=88/100
So,
B : A : C = 8800 : 10384 : 11800
Given that
8800 ratio = 220
Then C marks=220/8800×11800 =295

S4. Ans.(a)
Sol. Distance travelled by A in 2 hours = 50km
Rest distance travelled by both = 260-50 = 210km
So, time taken by both person = 210/(25+10)= 6 hour
So, they meet at 9:00 + 6 hours = 5:00 pm

S5. Ans.(b)
Sol. Amount = 2500
Total interest amount = 2970.25
2970.25=2500(1+r/100)^2
r = 9%

S6. Ans.(c)
Sol. ((xy+zx+yz))/xyz=0
xy + yz + zx = 0 …(i)
x + y + z = 9 …(ii)
x³ + y³ + z³ – 3xyz = [(x + y + z) (x² + y² + z² –(xy + yz + zx)]
= [9. (x² + y² + z²)]
= 9[ (x + y + z)² – 2(xy + yz + zx)]
= 9. 9. 9 = 729
