Kerala TET 2020: Last Day Reminder to Apply Online Application

Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala has released notification regarding for Kerala Teachers Eligibility Test (K – TET 2020) from 19th November 2020. Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) 2020 is to select teachers for Category I (Lower Primary Classes) Category II (Upper Primary Classes) Category III (High School Classes) and Category IV (for Language Teachers – Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers. All the candidates can apply through online from Kerala TET official website. Examination Fee:

  • For General/ OBC: Rs. 500/-
  • For SC/ ST Candidates: Rs. 250/-

Age Limit

There is no age limit mentioned for candidates appearing for KTET 2020.

KTET Eligibility:

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): 

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

KTET Exam Pattern: 

There will be 4 papers of KTET Feb 2020 :

  • Category I (Lower Primary Classes)
  • Category II (Upper Primary Classes)
  • Category III (High School Classes)
  • Category IV (for Language Teachers – Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers.
  • Paper I (for Classes I to V) Lower Primary Classes: (Duration of examination-Two-and-a-half hours)

Qualifying Marks

  • A person who scores 60% or more in the Kerala-TET examination will be considered ‘KTET passed’ or ‘K-TET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories
  • For General:60 % passing marks- 90
  • For OBC/SC/ST : 55% passing marks- 82
  • FOR PH:50% passing marks- 75
  • Negative Marks: There shall be no negative marks for the Kerala-TET  2020

Exam Mode:

  • All category papers can be online or offline.
  • Language for Category-1,2,4 will be Malayalam or English
  • Language for Category-3 will be  English only.
