Important Vocabulary For Teaching Exam

1. Abscond(V): run away
Synonyms– vanish, leave
Use: His life was safe if either of these men could be persuaded to abscond.

2. Anguish(N): severe upset
Synonyms: heartbreak, distress
Use: I had cast off all feeling, subdued all anguish to riot in the excess of my despair.
3. Inevitably(Adv): unavoidably
Synonyms: surely, inescapably
Use: That to attempt it, would be inevitably to be torn into a quick eternity.
4. Camouflage(N): disguise
Synonyms: concealment, deceit
Use: As for the machines themselves, they scorned the use of camouflage
5. Sanctum(N): sanctuary
Synonyms: chancel, altar
Use: I summon my companion, who joins me, and we enter our sanctum.
6. Stick One’s Neck Out (Phrase): Risk incurring criticism or anger by acting or speaking boldly.
7. Frenzy (noun) 
Meaning: a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior.
Synonyms: hysteria, madness, mania, insanity, derangement, dementedness, delirium, feverishness, agitation, turmoil, tumult, euphoria, elation, ecstasy.
Antonyms: calm, calmness, peace, placidity, quiet, quietude, repose, restfulness, serenity, still, stillness, tranquility.
8. Pagan (noun)
Meaning: a person holding religious beliefs other than those of the main world religions.
Synonyms: heathen, infidel, idolater, atheist, non-theist, irreligious person, agnostic, sceptic, heretic, apostate.
Antonyms: religious, devout, monotheistic, believer, holy, divine.
9. Torment (verb)
Meaning: cause to experience severe mental or physical suffering.
Synonyms: torture, afflict, harrow, plague, distress, agonize, excruciate, crucify, rack, mortify, trouble, abuse, maltreat, mistreat, molest.
Antonyms: abet, aid, assist, relieve, reprieve, console, content, quiet, solace, soothe, succor.
10. Hate- Monger  (noun)
Meaning: someone who tries to encourage people to hate other people or groups.
Synonyms: agitator, detractor, troublemaker, depreciator, bigot, demagogue, knocker.
