Solutions

S1. Ans.(c)
Sol. P = Rs. 10,000
T = 2 years (compound half yearly)
R = 20% Changed into 10% (by compound half yearly)

A = 14,641
C.I. = Amount – P
= 14,641 – 10,000
= Rs. 4,641

S2. Ans.(a)
Sol. P = Rs. 30,000
C.I. = Rs. 4347
A = P + C.I.
A = 30,000 + 4347
= Rs.  34,347

S3. Ans.(c)
Sol. C.I. = Rs. 9775.85
P = 26,500
A = C.I. + P
= Rs. 36275.85

S4. Ans.(c)
Sol. Let P = 100
after 60% increase in amount, it become = 160
S.I. = 160 – P
= 160 – 100
= 60

S5. Ans.(a)
Sol.  1 year S.I. = 4913 – 4624
= 289

R = (100×289÷4624×1)

R = 6.25%

C.I = 202
Difference between half yearly and yearly Compound Interest
