CTET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):

Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*

OR
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): 

Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).

OR
Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education).

There will be two papers :

CTET Cut-Off and Qualifying Marks

The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued a marks statement and Eligibility Certificate. The examination consists of two papers. Paper 1 is meant for the candidates who wish to be teachers for classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is meant for the candidates who wish to be teachers for classes 6 to 8. Both the papers are 150 marks each. Those candidates who will score marks equal to or more than 90 will be considered qualified.
